Digital Economy

The ongoing digitisation of Africa driven by high levels of mobile and internet penetration is creating new opportunities for the youth in the digital economy. Technology is modernising and enabling many economic sectors, creating new jobs for young people within these sectors. Technology is also redefining work and providing opportunities in future work, including the gig economy.

Climate Adaptation

There is an increased focus on climate change awareness and responsiveness. The Fund will prioritise support of individuals, institutions and communities that have climate-smart solutions across the sectors.

Agriculture

Agriculture remains the largest employer of young people and contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in all the African countries. The countries have, therefore, integrated agriculture as a priority sector in their economic planning.

Convening and influencing

Convening relevant stakeholders to encourage an enabling business environment through experienced partners and digital platforms to drive systematic change and address the issues that impede the creation of work opportunities for the youth, especially young women.

Technical Assistance (TA)

Adding value beyond financial support through technical assistance and capacity building to address the barriers concerning human capital and access to markets.
