The company develops, and distributes insurance products and tailored agronomy advice that protects these farmers from risk and grows their incomes.

    Prothem Usine SA is the largest privately-owned tea processor in Burundi. Prothem provides financial services to farmers through its subsidiary SOCADE Microfinance. SOCADE provides farmers with credit, transaction services, and risk mitigation instruments. Prothem provides farmers with inputs (seedlings and fertilizer), and has a Plantation team that assists farmers in all aspects of planting, growing, and harvesting their tea.

    Enviu has a 14-year track record of running projects and building social ventures in the domains of financial inclusion, circular economy, and food security. Enviu founded People’s Pension Holding with funding and support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cordaid Foundation, and the Achmea Foundation.
