The MasterCard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity conducted its 2016 Scaling Competition Information workshop at the KPMG Offices in Accra, Ghana on 17 May 2016.
Ninety- two representatives from various private sector organizations attended this informative session. Registrants and interested potential applicants seeking support to scale-up their tried and tested financial products and services had the opportunity to engage with the Fund Management team.
During the workshop, Francis Kusi, the Senior Manager of KPMG International Development Advisory Services took the attendees through a detailed presentation. He discussed about the success of the inaugural 2015 Innovation and Scaling Competitions, the 2015 winners, how companies can apply for support as well as the eligibility criteria of the 2016 Scaling Competition. This was followed by an engaging Q&A session. Mr. Francis Kusi and the KPMG Partner, Mr. George Manu addressed all the questions the participants had and encouraged them to apply for the 2016 Scaling Competition.
The 2016 Scaling Competition launched on 14 April 2016 and will close on 10 June 2016. For-Profit, commercial organizations with innovative financial products, services or processes that have the potential to scale up, and that could also have a deep social impact on the lives of rural poor people throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, are encouraged to visit www.frp.org to register and apply for support.
