2017 Competition

Just like previous competitions, the latest Fund competition seeks to identify and support new and/or scalable financial products and services that can transform lives in Sub Saharan Africa. The competition will be a rolling competition, with the second set of applications to be collated by 5th October 2017 for review, with subsequent applications being assessed later.

The 2017 Rolling Competition is open to project proposals from any country in the world as long as the projects are to be implemented in 24 African countries of focus. It presents an opportunity for high potential applications which were unsuccessful to strengthen their applications and re-enter them.

2015 AND 2016 COMPETITIONS

INNOVATION COMPETITION

In previous years, the Fund has run an independent Innovation focused competition seeking applications from organizations aiming to design, pilot, test, and launch new financial products and services that can effectively meet the financing needs of people living in poverty in rural and agricultural areas.

The last Innovation Competition closed on 5 April 2016. Applications were accessed and the winners selected.

SCALING COMPETITON

In previous years, the Fund has run an independent competition focused on Scalable ideas. The fund received applications for proven concepts, products and business models that could expanded into new geographies and markets.

The last Scaling Competition closed on 15 June 2016. Applications were accessed and the winners selected.
